April Fools Day!

I wanted to try my hand at a couple of jokes on my almost 10 year old son this year. So, it started last night, after midnight when I offered him $300 for being the world's greatest kid. He said, "Really?" and I said, "April Fools!" He then said, "but you weren't kidding about the greatest kid, right?" "No, I wasn't." <3

Today I told him I would give him $50 just for the heck of it but he didn't fall for it.

However, at dinner (I was giddy with anticipation!) I placed a bag of Scooby Snacks and individual cans of pineapple on each of our placemats. He was so excited to have pineapple that he opened that first - and low and behold there was no pineapple in it! Instead he found white and chocolate covered pretzels and an "April Fools!" note. Later he opened the Scooby Snacks to find another note and the contents replaced with Golden Grahams. Hee Hee. Fun for me!

To make these I ran a can opener (the kind that breaks the seal) around the bottom of the can, ate the pineapple, washed and dried the can, then filled it with pretzels (in a kleenex to prevent noise), and the note. I reattached the bottom using double sided tape. If you look close you could see the marks from the can opener but if you aren't suspecting anything you'd never notice. For the Scooby Snacks I pulled open the bottom seal about half way, ate the crackers :-), refilled with Golden Grahams, and resealed with double back tape.
