April Fools Day!

I wanted to try my hand at a couple of jokes on my almost 10 year old son this year. So, it started last night, after midnight when I offered him $300 for being the world's greatest kid. He said, "Really?" and I said, "April Fools!" He then said, "but you weren't kidding about the greatest kid, right?" "No, I wasn't." <3

Today I told him I would give him $50 just for the heck of it but he didn't fall for it.

However, at dinner (I was giddy with anticipation!) I placed a bag of Scooby Snacks and individual cans of pineapple on each of our placemats. He was so excited to have pineapple that he opened that first - and low and behold there was no pineapple in it! Instead he found white and chocolate covered pretzels and an "April Fools!" note. Later he opened the Scooby Snacks to find another note and the contents replaced with Golden Grahams. Hee Hee. Fun for me!

To make these I ran a can opener (the kind that breaks the seal) around the bottom of the can, ate the pineapple, washed and dried the can, then filled it with pretzels (in a kleenex to prevent noise), and the note. I reattached the bottom using double sided tape. If you look close you could see the marks from the can opener but if you aren't suspecting anything you'd never notice. For the Scooby Snacks I pulled open the bottom seal about half way, ate the crackers :-), refilled with Golden Grahams, and resealed with double back tape.

A Golden Birthday Dilemma

So LH is turning 10 next month. His "golden" birthday. He requests a limo ride. A HUMMER limo ride. Because he wants his "golden" birthday to be "special." I investigate. It's ridiculously expensive. Especially for a kids party just to drive around town. For 3 hours. That's the minimum. So I offer a number of alternatives including making him a party. As I've done most other years. I suggest a carnival theme. Yesterday he tells me he'd like the carnival party. And that it will be "special" because I made it for him. I'll keep him. ♥

Feb 21 - Card "Reading" Day

Today is Sticky Bun Day! AND Card Reading Day!

I could’ve brought sticky buns, but instead… It’s a different take on “reading” cards.
I have 5 cards that I made. All but one have a frog picture on the front but no sentiment or caption inside. I would like everyone to make up a sentiment or caption for each card. Don’t sweat it, just put in the first thing that comes to your mind. Please put your initials by your entry and then pass the card on (like we do with birthday cards). If you are the last person to write on one please put it back on my desk. Enjoy reading what everyone wrote! I will post all at the end of the day or tomorrow morning. Thanks for jumping in and playing.

Don’t forget 5 Minutes of Fun at 130ish in room 128

Leapin’ Lizards – February is also Sweet Potato Month!  Tomorrow is Single Tasking Day! AND Inconvenience Yourself Day! AND Margarita Day!

photos are in a PDF; have to figure out how to get them on here, sorry! Will fix ASAP.
